Music Therapy and More
For families with children struggling in an area of development.
This program, led by a board-certified music therapist, teaches families how to use music to improve their child’s behavior and motor, communication and social skills. Siblings (age birth to six-years-old) may attend, but must register separately. Registration is required. Space is the Place: Observe the Moon Night
For students in third through fifth grade.
International Observe the Moon Night is held in the fall around the Moon’s first quarter because of the ideal conditions for afternoon and evening viewings in the Northern Hemisphere. We will take a tour of the Moon from inside the Library and create our own impact craters. Registration is required.

Lakewood LEGO® League
For youth in kindergarten through fifth grade (caregivers welcome)
Use LPL’s collection of Lego® Bricks and your own imagination to create fabulous new structures and designs each month. No registration, but numbered tickets will be given out first-come, first-served.

Art activities let you express your view of the world. Create your own unique piece of art to take home and show off to family and friends. Registration is required.

Tail Waggin’ Tutors
For school-age children
Bone up on your reading skills by reading to a dog. Drop in for a one-to-one session with one of our dogs and owners that have been certified through Therapy Dogs International.

Adaptive Storytime
For you and your 3- 7 years old child.
In this story time, children with varying learning styles and abilities will learn with their caregivers together in a safe, supportive environment where respect and appreciation for differences is encouraged. This thirty-minute story time is designed for children who may not be flourishing in a traditional story time experience. Siblings may also attend but must register separately.
