Roosevelt School Celebrates Right To Read Week
Roosevelt Elementary School celebrated Right to Read Week from March 29 through April 1, with enthusiasm. Roosevelt PTA president, Becky Boatman, along with teachers Mrs. Vullo, Mrs. Kidd and Mrs. Schultz, presented all students with their own Scholastic book to keep. During the day, students would “stop everything and read” for 15 minutes each day.
Students also had the opportunity to support Right to Read Week by wearing shirts, hats, and buttons that promoted literacy.
Guest readers were invited to school to share their favorite stories with the students. Those visiting were Judge Patrick Carroll, School Board Member Matthew Markling, radio personality Glenn Anderson, Lakewood Public Safety members Mr. Fischer, Mr. Rasch and Ms. Seidel, and Roosevelt alumnus Mrs. Steiner.
