Beginner and Intermediate Photography Workshop

Beginner classes will be a focus on the camera; it’s operations and basic composition. We will also go over understanding exposure and the relationship between your cameras aperture, shutter speed and ISO, file formats, and ambient light.

For the intermediate class a DSLR is required. For the beginners class a newer advanced point and shoot will be sufficient, however to maximize all of the aspects of this lesson a DSLR is highly recommended. A SLR camera is also an option (film), however we will not be discussing the developing process.

Workflow, postproduction and editing will be covered in the intermediate and advanced classes to a certain extent as these lessons are all on location. It will be up to the students to take information obtained and put into use in their own workflow. We will also be covering the histogram, advanced camera controls, a further look at composition, and understanding lenses in the intermediate and advanced classes.

These classes are to help you have a better understanding of your camera and how it functions. We will be learning to look at the camera as a tool, instead of an object. By learning how to take manual control over your camera, you will have a better understanding of how to make a photograph.

Pricing for these classes is as follows ~

$25 per person for group Beginner Lessons ~ 2hrs
$35 per person for group Intermediate Lessons ~ 2hrs
$40 per person for group Advanced Lessons ~ 3hrs

1 on 1 or private lessons are the same at an hourly rate.

Classes are all ages; intermediate and advanced classes require certain knowledge of the camera.
