Right now I can't think of any reason to go.

The biggest lie they are telling now is that the opening of Avon Hospital has nothing to do with:

The transfer of Lakewood doctors to Avon
The transfer of entire Lakewood Hospital departments to Avon
The transfer of all specialists from Lakewood to Avon
The transfer of Lakewood Hospital employees to Avon
The transfer of Lakewood Hospital beds to Avon
The transfer of Lakewood Hospital patients to Avon

I guess they want us to believe that if Avon was not opening all of those transfer would have happened anyway.

Lies, damned lies and the Cleveland Clinic.

Bill

Read the report.

Dr. Toby Cosgrove said, "The day they open Avon is the day we close Lakewood." No beds
being transferred. Employees can apply there or anywhere in the system and will be
chosen with seniority in mind. There will be no patients transferred because by then there
will be no patients, transfers of doctors are on record too.

Who lied about that?

Bill what changes happened to Lakewood Hospital that weren't approved by the Board. or
allowed in the lease? I'm just curious why you feel any of the moves the Clinic made were
hidden or schemes?

To me, in a nutshell how this whole thing has played out. When asked how many jobs the
new facility would create he mentioned 200-300. Dr. Toby Cosgrove said "I have no idea."

Well of course. Lakewood Hospital had to be slowly strangled. It's not like they are going to maintain the hospital until the day they close it down.

Like you said, on the day Avon opens Lakewood Hospital will have no patients, no doctors and no business.

Remember the Vision for Tomorrow? What a joke, but the joke was on Lakewood.

Bill

You said the clinic were liars, I merely asked what are they lying about?

I have maintained since you started the "sky is falling" the clinic had been honest about
their intentions, and had no reason to lie.

I did a little survey of people that have dealt with the clinic asking them if they were ever
lied to. They all had strong opinions about how they were treated in their dealings, but
not one said they were ever lied to.

Have you ever read the contract?

It is so vague and enforceable the Clinic could have left anytime they wished. But THEY
DID NOT START HIS SOUL SEARCHING LAKEWOOD DID.

The City of Lakewood 2.5 years ago place the Hospital Board under Executive Session.

Show me where it says, 2.5 years ago the Clinic told the City of Lakewood goodbye?

IF you are closing a hospital, doesn't it make sense to wind it down?

OK fine. The members of the Hospital Board wanted the Hospital closed. Why? For whose benefit?

The Hospital Board is made up of individual members. Which of those members were part of this conspiracy?

Can you list the names of those individuals?

What benefit do they get from the closing of the Hospital?

If you are so certain the Board engaged in a conspiracy to destroy the Hospital name some names.

If the Clinic was so eager to keep Lakewood Hospital open why are they listing all of the reasons why they had to close the Hospital? Are they lying about those reasons?

Was the Vision of Tomorrow a real vision?

Bill

This would have been easier to follow in the discussion instead of all over the Deck.
Diffusion is the enemy of a community, and the friend of the scoundrels.

I have not spoken with a handful of members, that believe in their hearts, "Based on the
information were were given, this was the best deal we could make." The list of names is
over in THE DISCUSSION PAGE and what city they are from.

I have never said the Board was involved in conspiracy, I phrased it as someone(s)
hijacked a bus of good meaning people.

Actually Bill, they listed reasons of why they could close the hospital but had not. FACTS
The Clinic could not lose money at Lakewood Hospital. So any talk of that is from their
perspective and as I have said elsewhere in one of you hundreds of threads. Hospitals for
some reason, perhaps their non-profit status do not declare Medicaid Payments in their
bottom line. Without Medicaid payments figure in, the money the Hospital made would
look like a thick baseline compared to other hospitals. When you add in Medicaid Lakewood
makes $2- $12 million a year over the last ten years.

Between 51,000 patients, and a deal where they could not lose money, and the ability to
keep other hospitals at bay, is a very attractive deal. Unless your landlord is a bipolar nut
case that asks you to change the lease every couple years than tells you, we are looking
at getting rid of you. Then you go WTF and leave.

No lies?

Give us the Madison Sq. building and we will fund and establish a heart cath unit that will be the center of heart care for the westside. *until we move those services to Fairview.

Let us down grade the ER and close up the pediatric unit and we will make Lakewood our premiere orthopedic and stroke rehab hospital. *until we move those services to Avon.

Not lies, we just missed the asterisk.

Lease changes were made at this insistence of the Clinic based on their promises.

Bill
