Name Game....

Postby Tim Liston » Sat Apr 07, 2018 6:22 pm

It’s been awhile since I posted a brain teaser, not since Monty Hall died and I posted the Monty Hall problem (click here) last year.

Lately I’ve noticed the profusion of seemingly-random three syllable combinations that are used to name (usually obscure) products, services and other things. I came across eight of them over the last week or so and made note. Let’s see if you can match the name with the corresponding product/service/thing. A couple are easy. For good measure I made up two more. They must mean something horrible in some third-world country or one of the drug companies would be using it (because some of the ones they do use are even worse). So throw them out. Answers in a few days. No cheating….

1. Alteryx
2. Cosentyx
3. Endevis
4. Lagnostal
5. Innovis
6. Provenza
7. Radisol
8. Triductix
9. Virium
10. Xylitol

Is a….

a) Hardwood Flooring Manufacturer
b) Local Staffing Firm
c) Sugar Substitute
d) Data Analytics Platform
e) Foundation Benefiting South African Children
f) Treatment for Psoriasis
g) Credit Bureau (but not one of the big three)
h) Cloud Technology Provider

And as a Name Game bonus, check out the 31 Truly Unfortunate Product Names (click here). Unless you’re easily offended. Then don’t.
