This Saturday, Dec. 3 is Light Up Lakewood, sponsored by First Federal Lakewood. We are excited to welcome a big crowd to Downtown Lakewood to ring in the holiday season. I wanted to send an overview of the event so you are all aware of timing and apologize that I’m sending it now so close to the date.

Location: The event will run from Marlowe to Arthur on Detroit. Due to considerable safety concerns from last year and emphasis by LPD to adjust the parade, the parade will stage on St. Charles and Belle surrounding Bernice Pyke Park, stepping off at Belle and Detroit (next to Aladdins). That is the biggest shift, as such Detroit will be open from Marlowe east. In order to run the parade all the way to Arthur and end at a parking lot, the beer garden shifts from the west to the block between Belle and Marlowe.

Road Closure Timing:
The festival runs from 4-8pm. Detroit Avenue. Detroit will to traffic at 2pm. No parking signs along Detroit and some side street spots will go up tomorrow (12/1). LPD will make every effort to help get cars off the street without calling for a tow.
All on street vendors, companies, food, etc will enter at Gladys and Detroit starting at 2pm. This is the same way we run Meltdown.
The muni-lot next to Dave’s Cosmic Subs will be closed all day Saturday as the tent setup will begin at 8:30am.
