“Democracy is not a spectator sport.” Marian Wright Edelman

As we head into September, we take a look at Lakewood politics and the political season. Primary elections are September 14th and you can take part in early voting all the way up to that date. See the latest on the candidates, and read the endorsements both in the paper and online.

See the table below.

We also take a look at a couple ongoing stories and bring them up-to-date. Plus plenty of stories about the friends and families of Lakewood written by your friends and families in Lakewood.

For seventeen years in an exchange of trust, respect and love, thousands of Lakewoodites have taken the time to share their photos and stories not just because they wanted you to know about an event, family member or themselves, but with the hope that you too would send in and share your images, stories and memories.

Since starting we have been able to assemble over a quarter million images and stories in our archives. Ranging from birth to death, current events to over 100 years ago in Lakewood. Amazing content added by over 7,000+ different Lakewoodites. Available to all, FREE, 24/7/365.

An ongoing collection of Lakewood’s best days, and some of our worst, in searchable galleries. Giving all of us a better look and understanding about the city we love and call home.

Powered by local businesses dedicated to helping Lakewoodites get their stories out so that we can all enjoy the city more. Business that understand how important a free press is to this community.

The Lakewood Observer a powerful demonstration of love and community since day 1.

With that said, I present you the 420th issue. Proof that Lakewood is a wonderful community.

Don’t forget to VOTE!

You can pick this issue of the Lakewood Observer up at over 100 locations and businesses around Lakewood.

Or, you can download the digital version here.
