Appreciation For Our Nurses And Teachers

A downtown Lakewood massage studio will be offering nurses and teachers half off massages in celebration of both National Nurses Week and Teacher Appreciation Week (both being celebrated May 6-12).

“Teachers don’t just want gifts like shiny red apples, “says Gold-In-Touch Massage studio owner Anthony Lima, LMT, “teachers want relaxation massage”!  Additionally, says Lima, many nurses are stressed and over-worked.

“The last thing a nurse needs is a disrespectful comment from a politician claiming many of them just play cards all day,” he says. “Just like our hard-working teachers, nurses, too, need relaxation AND, more importantly, respect.”

Nurses and teachers can enjoy an hour-long full body massage in the comfortable studio space weekends in May and June. The discounted rate is only $30 (regularly $60) and those interested can request a male or female therapist.  Massages must be scheduled in advance and are based on availability.

“We are honored to be able to acknowledge nurses and teachers for their dedication and hard work,” says Lima. “While I have never been a difficult patient, I was certainly a challenging student for teachers. If I could go decades back in time I would give massage gift certificates to all my past teachers for putting up with me,” he laughs.

Offering nurses and teachers the discounted massages is one way we can help raise awareness of the value of nursing and teaching and to help educate people on the important roles these professionals play in our lives and the lives of our loved ones, he adds.

Gold-In-Touch Massage is located in the INA Building at 14701 Detroit Ave #575 in downtown Lakewood – between Warren Road and St. Charles Avenue. Those interested in scheduling an hour of relaxation should call (216) 704-0794 or email GITmassage@hotmail.com
